Description

I seek an improvement for the alignment of columns in tables.

Finishing a report in .org eventually exported as .html, I observe the additional `` to align the content of a column to be aligned to the right hand side has not the same effect (any more), than if the line indicating the setup file for `readtheorg` hosted by you is muted / is absent. Do you recommend a particular keyword combination to add to `#+OPTIONS:` if one wants to use the explicit definitions ``, ``, or ``?

The observation can be replicated when accessing the .org file from pristine Emacs (version 29.1 as packaged for Linux Debian 13/trixie) by `emacs -q example.org`. Obviously, if the line indicating the external setup file is present, Emacs asks in advance if fetching this resource is considered safe.

Research direction

Start with the attached 2023-09-15_column_alignment example.org and reproduce its HTML export using emacs -q, both with and without the external readtheorg setup file. Compare the table markup and styles for , , and alignment; done means the cause is identified and the alignment or required #+OPTIONS: guidance is documented.
