This package has no maintainer

I'm no longer maintaining this package.

[I took over](https://github.com/fluttercommunity/flutter_downloader/issues/639) almost 1 year ago. In the linked issue you can see the problems that were present back then. I had ambitions to make the situation better but never found enough time to embark on the larger tasks (v2, support for new platforms). I closed ~100 issues, answered questions, fixed bugs, accepted PRs, and improved documentation (both README in dartdocs).

I'd like to mention several outstanding contributions that were made during the past year:

Thank you for giving back to the community we're all part of.

The scale of this project is too large to fit its maintenance, let alone development, in my free time (though I admit that if GitHub Sponsors were active on this repo and I was getting compensated, I would've been able to commit more time to it).

So if you'd like to maintain it, just comment here.

If no one shows up within a few months, I suggest marking this package as DISCONTINUED on pub.dev and moving on.

I know of one alternative – [781flyingdutchman/background_downloader](https://github.com/781flyingdutchman/background_downloader) - but I didn't use it so can't recommend it.
