Description

This is a different approach as seen in https://github.com/flathub/dev.zed.Zed/pull/342.

I have created , that allows easy integration into any IDE (like Zed/Zed Preview, but also VSCode) without having to escape the sandbox and installing multiple SDKs.

Instructions can be found at .

I tried making this upstream available (https://github.com/flathub/flathub/pull/8677), but I've given up in doing so. Instead, you can install the SDK using my repo, or build it yourself (which is also very easy).

Research direction

Start with the approach described in the issue, compare it with flathub/dev.zed.Zed#342, and read the org.freedesktop.Sdk.Extension.podman instructions for Zed and Zed Preview. Done would require a decided upstream integration or documented resolution for sandboxed devcontainer support; the issue names no files or tests.
