Stripe Demo Deploy fails

Following the steps from --- https://firebase.google.com/docs/use-cases/payments ...

Running "firebase deploy" returns the following:

Functions deploy had errors with the following functions:
createStripeCustomer(us-central1)
cleanupUser(us-central1)

To try redeploying those functions, run:
firebase deploy --only "functions:createStripeCustomer,functions:cleanupUser"

To continue deploying other features (such as database), run:
firebase deploy --except functions

However, running the suggested fixes above does not resolve the issue.
