Can't host on firebase with Nextjs

Description
I went through the [tutorial](https://firebase.google.com/codelabs/firebase-nextjs#0) to run the nextjs code and it works for emulation but if I try and build and deploy to firebase for hosting [(steps here)](https://firebase.google.com/docs/hosting/frameworks/nextjs?hl=en&authuser=0) all my website is is 500 Internal Server Error.
Has anyone successfully hosted on firebase?
