# Project Summary
RelayStream is a modular, decentralized IPTV orchestration layer designed to solve the "permanence problem" in digital broadcasting. While traditional IPTV relies on centralized, fragile servers that are prone to downtime and censorship, RelayStream utilizes a "Frankenstein" stack—leveraging Solana for instant payment settlement and Filecoin for verifiable, long-term storage of media assets.
The project addresses the need for a high-fidelity (4K) media pipeline that doesn't rely on AWS or Google Cloud. By integrating Filecoin as the cold-storage and archival layer, RelayStream allows broadcasters to "checkpoint" their live streams into immutable archives. This ensures that historical broadcasts, community media, and premium IPTV content remain accessible and verifiable without the recurring costs of centralized cloud storage. -->
## Impact
The Filecoin ecosystem currently excels at storing large datasets, but it lacks "active" consumer media use cases that bridge high-velocity chains like Solana. RelayStream solves this by creating a direct pipeline where video chunks are transcoded and pushed to Filecoin. This introduces a massive, recurring stream of verifiable data to the network from the multi-billion dollar IPTV market.
The pain point we address is "Link Rot" and data loss in the independent streaming sector. If a central host goes down, years of content disappear. By getting this right, we prove that Filecoin is the "Backbone of Media History." The risk of not getting this right is the continued monopolization of media by three major cloud providers. Success looks like a "one-click" archival system where a Solana-based broadcaster can store a 24-hour 4K stream on Filecoin for a fraction of the cost of traditional storage. -->
## Outcomes
Relay-to-Filecoin Archival SDK: A toolset that automatically segments live streams and pushes them to Filecoin/IPFS via the Lighthouse or NFT.storage gateways.-->
Proof-of-Archive Dashboard: A UI (hosted on the RelayStream portal) that displays Filecoin CID (Content Identifiers) for every broadcast hour, allowing users to verify their content is safely on-chain.-->
Open-STRM Indexing Standard: A specification for how decentralized IPTV metadata should be formatted to ensure compatibility between Solana (state) and Filecoin (storage).-->
## Data Onboarding
Based on current IPTV stream bitrates (4K at ~25Mbps):
Month #1: 500 GB (Initial pilot streams)
Month #3: 5 TB (Beta testing with early partner broadcasters)
Month #6: 25 TB (Scaling to community-driven channels)
Month #12: 100+ TB (Full production rollout)

## Adoption, Reach, and Growth Strategies
Our target audience includes independent IPTV operators, decentralized media creators, and the existing 12,000+ holders in our extended ecosystem. We are currently engaging them through our active Telegram and X (Twitter) community.
To onboard the first 100 users, we will offer "Storage Subsidies"—where users who hold the $RSTRM token on Solana have their Filecoin storage fees covered by the grant-funded RelayStream treasury. -->
## Development Roadmap
Milestone 1: Filecoin Storage Integration (Core Pipeline)
- Functionality: Establish the bridge between the RelayStream "Tunnel" and Filecoin. Automated uploading of .ts video segments.
- Team: 1 (Lead Developer/Founder)
- Funding Required: $5,000
- Timeline: June 2026
Milestone 2: The "Proof-of-Archive" Dashboard
- Functionality: A web-based UI where Solana wallet holders can view their archived content CIDs and verify storage deals on the Filecoin network.
- Team: 1 (Lead Developer/Founder)
- Funding Required: $5,000
- Timeline: August 2026
## Total Budget Requested
| Milestone # | Description | Deliverables | Completion Date | Funding |
| 1 | Core Integration | Storage SDK & Github Repo | June 30, 2026 | $5,000 |
| 2 | Verifiable UI | Proof-of-Archive Dashboard | Aug 15, 2026 | $5,000 |
## Maintenance and Upgrade Plans
The project will be maintained via the $RSTRM Treasury. Long-term upgrades include migrating to the Filecoin Virtual Machine (FVM) to automate storage deal renewals directly via Solana-to-Filecoin smart contract calls. -->
