Updated to version 0.7.2 and render is extremely slower

Is that expected behavior?
I couldn't find any changelog, to see what has changed since 0.6.1, which I was using.
But I can assure the render is more than 5x slower.

Also, the resulting gif is 3x bigger! Maybe the 0.7 introduced something like hidpi support?
My gif has gone from 10.9MB to 36.7MB in 0.7.2, which is prohibitive, both in time and size.
