**To Reproduce**
Steps to reproduce the behavior:
1. Create a project w/ the source from https://github.com/expo/examples/tree/master/with-drawer-navigation
2. `npm install`
3. `npm run start`
4. Observe nothing renders in Chrome browser
5. Observe error message in Chrome developer tools

**Expected behavior**
Application displays, no warnings in Chrome developer tools.
