Feature: Count commits to the default branch as contributions?

We'd have to slice & dice it a little differently I'd think. But might be worth it to better capture contributions of those with write access.

Though on the other hand, I personally always want to encourage PRs. :)

First clarify whether commits to the default branch should count alongside pull requests and how write-access contributions should be handled, then trace the existing contribution-counting logic. Done means the agreed contribution rules are implemented and verified for both direct commits and pull-request contributions.
