Is project still a WIP / accepting breaking changes?

I'm looking into switching to this client from etcd-java, but don't want to adopt something that is still making non-backward compatible changes. It seems like the project is five years old at this point, are we still in this state?

Start with the WIP and backward-compatibility note quoted in the issue, then review the project's current compatibility policy and release status. Done would be a maintainer-confirmed update to that guidance or a clear answer about whether breaking changes are still expected.
