Bluetooth Proxy Wlan-Connection - "Umlaut"

### The problem

using https://esphome.io/projects/?type=bluetooth with M5Stack Atom Lite , chars like "ü" are not display correctly in the wlan-dropdown and trying to connect fails. Only by using the "other"-option and entering the wlan-name by hand it is connecting
