Research direction
Start by reviewing the linked bareboat-necessities/bbn-nmea200-m5atom, ttlappalainen/NMEA2000, ttlappalainen/NMEA2000_esp32, and AK-Homberger/NMEA2000-TempPressure projects to understand available ESP32 support and NMEA 2000 PGN handling. Done would mean defining and implementing ESPHome support that exposes relevant NMEA 2000 PGN sentences as Home Assistant sensors.
