TextareaConnect stopped working

It was working fine. Hibernate/wake up, now it does nothing in some tabs, but it works in others.
At the moment it's working for github, but not for gmail or for a site of mine hosted at webfaction.
Oh -- after editing this textarea in the external editor once, now it doesn't work any more.
When I save and reopen the issue, it works again. But only once (can edit in the external editor once, the second time nothing happens).

Is there a way to get more detailed debug output to see what's going wrong?
