Research direction

Compare the .github/workflows/lint.yaml files at the referenced line in tutorials-late, tutorials-early, tutorials-middle, and tutorials, and inspect issues #167 and #168 for context. Determine whether the actions update workflow should be added to these repositories; done means the required approach is agreed and the relevant repositories have consistent workflow configuration.
