mayavi segmentation fault

Hello,

I have been unsuccessful in running mayavi. I've tried installing via synaptic and via pip with same results. When I run mayavi2 from terminal, I get a 'Segmentation fault (core dumped)' error. Any help is much appreciated. I'm running python 2.7, pip mayavi distribution 4.5.0, and python bindings for vtk from synaptic (6.2.0).
