Description
As over multiple years this repo has grown maybe we should do the following things:
1. look at issues and delete old and stale or unnecessary ones
2. do the same with PullRequests
3. clean up the backlog to make it easier for contributors and maintainers to focus on relevant and actionable tasks
Reason: A cleanup helps reduce noise, improves project clarity, and makes it easier for new contributors to understand the current state of the project without being overwhelmed by outdated or irrelevant entries.

Research direction
Start by reviewing the repository's issues and pull requests, identifying which are old, stale, unnecessary, or still actionable. Done means outdated noise has been removed and the remaining backlog is clearer and easier for contributors and maintainers to focus on.
