Research direction
Reproduce the failure on the default Wayland session by pressing Super to open and close the Applications Menu, then pressing it again and testing mouse input. Start by tracing the Applications Menu and Super shortcut handling in wingpanel; use `killall io.elementary.wingpanel` only to recover. Done means the menu opens, closes, and opens again repeatedly, including after mouse interaction.
