Description

### What Happened?

I am trying to extend my display so I can stream on my TV/Monitor while I use my Laptop for other stuff.

I am getting an error "GDBus.Error:org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.InvalidArgs: Logical monitors not adjacent" when I try to apply any settings except Mirror Desktop which does work.

This worked intially when I first installed but will not work now. I am on the latest version and have tried reboots, replug HDMI etc.

The monitors are touching on the displays setting.

### Steps to Reproduce

1. Went to displays in settings
2. Unclicked mirror displays
3. Moved the Laptop display so it was next to the monitor display
4. Clicked apply
5. Error appeared and no change in screen behaviour.

### Expected Behavior

1. Go to displays in settings
2. Unclicked mirror displays
3. Align Laptop display so it was next to the monitor display in expected place to allow mouse movements across two displays
4. Clicked apply
5. Change applied to have two extended monitors
6. Message to confirm that revised setting should be kept
7. Ability to display different apps in the two displays

### Hardware Info

Runs Win 10 and Zorin OS without this issue. Just migrated to elementaryOS because of the interface. I was streaming like this on Zorin this morning before moving over - same cable, devices etc

Research direction

Start by reproducing the display arrangement through Settings on elementaryOS 8.x in a Wayland session, using the listed steps and the same extended-display layout. Capture the currently empty log section while applying the change and investigate the reported “Logical monitors not adjacent” error. Done means adjacent displays can be applied and used independently without the error.
