Description
Edit for beta2: The issue is getting worse. On beta one, pressing the power button, the laptop would suspend right away. Now on beta 2, the power button causes a mess. When pressed, the screen goes black for a second then the lockscreen shows up:
1. If I input my password on the lockscreen then hit enter, the screen turns black with only a cursor. I can't get out of it unless I drop into tty then reboot from there, or just force shutdown with the power button.
2. If I hit the power menu from the panel while on the lockscreen, nothing happens no matter what I choose, restart, shutdown or restart, as if I didn't do anything. Then I'd input my password after messing with power menu in the panel, the laptop then logs me in then weirdly execute whatever last action I had taken when I was on the lockscreen then either suspend, shutdown or restart, depending on what I chose.
Also, now the laptop never ever suspends no matter what I do, press the power button, suspend from the power menu or just close the lid. Today I closed the lid and left the laptop closed for over 30 minutes. During those 30 minutes, the notification bell was going crazy with the lid closed. Opened the lid, the screen was black and blinking like a dim flashligh (I took a video, but for some reason I can't upload it to github :/ )
Again, had to drop into tty to get out of it.
This is an issue that has been going on for a long time. Every time I close the lid the laptop doesn't suspend right away like it suggests in the "power" settings. I'd leave the laptop for 5-10 minutes, open the lid and it is still running as if the lid was never closed. Fan keeps running with the lid closed. The only time it suspends is when it reaches the times I allocated for it in the settings to suspend. So now, I had to set up the suspend time to the lowest "5 minutes", so when I close it, it stays running for only 5 minutes then suspends. I have looked online, but nothing with elementary shows up. All I can find is ubuntu related. And those solutions didn't work.
Note: This is issue also happens on ubuntu for me. So, I am not actually sure if this is just a coincidence or if EOS has carried this from Ubuntu.
