Thunderbird's Quick Filter bar not working any more

### What Happened?

The Quick Filter bar on Thunderbird (installed from the AppCenter) doesn't respond to input any more, and it also doesn't close (or open) when the button above it is clicked upon the way it used to. Although Thunderbird is not a supported app, the problem appears to be due not to any updates to Thunderbird, but to its interaction with gala -- which Elementary has apparently been working on quite a bit of late.

(I would've put a screenshot of the Thunderbird window here, but does not put a png file of the active window in ~/Pictures/Screenshots anymore since upgrading to Horus ... so I know longer know how to do that)

### Steps to Reproduce

Opened Thunderbird
Type text into the Quick Filter box
And see no response

### Expected Behavior

It should filter the messages

Latest release (I have run all updates)
