x-fi stereo mix "what u hear" always on, no slider or checkbox in pulseaudio

Soundcard: Creative X-Fi XtremeGamer
PulseAudio is missing the proper sliders/checkboxes for the stereo mix or "what u hear" option, so whenever I have my mic enabled, I hear keep hearing myself and all sound playing can be heard to whomever I'm on skype with.
