Switching output device triggers music pause

Description
Switching the output device in the new plug from analog to HDMI causes the music player (Spotify) to pause (probably through MPRIS?). To my mind, this should not happen.
It might be related to the fact that when I unplug my headphones the music player also stops, which is correct.
