Can't record from headset microphone

### What Happened?

I can't record with or use my headset microphone. When I click on it in the Input section of the sound settings, the UI shows the change but the input is still stuck on the previous input device (internal mic or webcam mic).

### Steps to Reproduce

1. Connect a headset.
2. Try to record something
3. Change sound input to the headset

### Expected Behavior

Input sound should be coming from the headset.
