> Is there a reliable way to get a pinyin Chinese input on elementary os? I tried the option to install ibus-rime from within the settings app and it doesn't seem to start, I believe rime requires schema files for differernt pinyin engines to actually work and from I can tell elementary is not downloading any, but I'm not sure. I have always used fcitx5 in the past so if there is a way to get that to integrate nicely with elementary that would be awesome
### Problem
Follow-up to #423
We can install [ibus-rime](https://github.com/rime/ibus-rime) as a Chinese IME in Keyboard plug but this requires another setup for users to use it actually. Users need to install a "scheme" (or "configuration manager"), e.g. listed in [the Wiki of Rime](https://github.com/rime/home/wiki/RimeWithIBus#ubuntu).
### Proposal
It would be helpful for users who want to use ibus-rime as Chinese IME to provide a way to install these configuration managers easilly.
