Indicator displays wrong percentage

My wingpanel battery indicator shows the wrong percentage and killing/restarting wingpanel does not fix this. Additionally `acpi -V` reports 3% too (`Battery 0: Discharging, 3%, 05:35:28 remaining`). Last time my laptop was powered on (same day) it was at around 80%. My battery is not the problem, as this laptop is only about 5 months old. Rebooting solves the issue.
