### Steps to Reproduce (Update)

Notifications started to work after I initiated the background process by executing `flatpak run io.elementary.mail --background` but still I haven't seen any badges yet. I am not really sure if this method will survive a reboot but it works for now.

~~1. Open Mail app.
2. Send an email to yourself from another account while the Mail is in the foreground.
3. Mail will not show any notifications nor badges. Still no badges
4. Close Mail.
5. Send another email to yourself.
6. Mail will not show any notifications, nor badges.
7. Check if it runs in the background from the System Monitor.
8. Nope, the process has been killed.
9. Conclusion; Mail does not show notifications whether it is in the foreground or in the background.~~

### Expected Behavior

The Mail app has to act like the Calendar app; runs in the background and never misses any notification.

### OS Version

6.x (Odin)

### Software Version

Latest release (I have run all updates)
