Unable to set default application for files accessed through remote login

### What Happened?

I connect to an external machine via graphical ssh in the Files app. In this remote machine, I use files with the .asm extension.

I am forced to select my text editor each time I want to access an asm file, despite having checked "set as default" in the app selector.

The default app selection works on locally saved asm files though, just not remote files.

### Steps to Reproduce

1. Connect to a remote machine through Files
2. Access a file that does not have a default application assigned
3. In the application selector, check "set as default"
4. Observe that step 3 was effectively ignored for subsequent access attempts

### Expected Behavior

Selected default application should be opened by default, rather than having to select an application manually each time
