Scrollable days?

When there are too many events in a day to show a "... more..." text is shown and users have to select the day to view all the events.
Couldn't we make the days scrollable?
I can imagine combining this with the vertical swipe to navigate between months.
Would we need to come up with another affordance to indicate that there are more events than visible? It won't always happen that a event is only partly visible. Then again the scrollbar seems to usually autohide in other parts of the OS.
