Can't edit text after lost focus

Reproduce:
1. Open Applications menu
2. Press Alt+tab / Alt+shift+tab to open application switcher

Issues:
- When you stop the application switcher the applications menu returns, but you can't edit the search text any more. the focus is moved to an app in the background and this focus stays there.
- The application menu is shown transparently in the background like an app.

Something similar happens when navigating workspaces.

Shouldn't the applications menu automatically close in these cases?
