It would be nice to have a little introduction to Matrix, ecosystem concepts and where a homeserver sits in all of it, in order to give sysadmins a working model as they set things up. Currently, the docs just plainly mention that Synapse is a Matrix homeserver implementation.
We could also include the following visual aid:
