Many DMs missing from "People" tab

### Steps to reproduce

1. Open app
2. Filter room list to "People"
3. Observe that many DM rooms are missing despite being properly linked in `m.direct` as per every other client

### Outcome

#### What did you expect?
See all of my DMs, especially those with unread messages near the top.

#### What happened instead?
Many of my DMs are outright missing, showing up under "Rooms" instead

Reproduce this on Element X Android 26.06.2 with a room list containing DMs linked in m.direct, then trace the People filter and its handling of those links. Done means all properly linked DM rooms appear under People, including rooms with unread messages, rather than under Rooms.
