Random messages apparently lost

### Steps to reproduce

Unknown, random events. Mostly occuring in public rooms, couldn't confirm if other users experiencing the same events.

### Outcome

There were several instances now that this has occurred. One type of occurrence is that in the toom list I see notifications and preview of new messages, but when I open the room, the message is not there.

Another type is that there is a reply to a prior message, but when I jump to the previous one, the message is not there.

Sometimes though it seems to recover itself after a short while anf going in-and-out of the app. Maybe related to sliding sync. When I re-sync the old element app, the messages in question are not problematic there.
