Description

Cross-porsed issue element-hq/element-android#9069

---

### Steps to reproduce

1. Start with a vanilla installation of either the Element or Element-X app. No account is yet connected
2. Eventually do some preparation as indicated below.
3. Start login process
1. Select homeserver
2. Type username

Now, there are two ways that might be related (or not):

1. Switch to your password manager ([Keepass2android](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=keepass2android.keepass2android) in my case)
2. Copy password to clipboard
3. Paste copied password in Element app as password and trigger login

The alternative

1. Install the barcode keyboard (I used [this one](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.nikosoft.nikokeyboard)) on android and enable in system settings
2. Create a QR of the password locally on your PC ([1](https://wiki.ubuntuusers.de/QtQR/), [2](https://wiki.ubuntuusers.de/qrencode/))
3. Switch to Elements, go to password field
4. Use barcode keyboard to _type_ the qr-encoded barcode from your PC screen

### Outcome

#### What did you expect?

Both ways should allow to login into the Matrix network using the Android app. As you did not type manually, you can rule out classical typos.

#### What happened instead?

I get the message that (depending on the version of Element (X) used) the username and/or password were incorrect. The login is rejected without further information.

When typing the password manually, it is accepted. I had to decrease password complexity to do this (tried a few times with 40 random chars and failed )

### Your phone model

Oukitel C51, Cubot A10

### Operating system version

### Application version and app store

Element 1.6.44 from google play store and Element-X 25.08.2 from google play store as well

### Homeserver

nope.chat, frei.chat (only partially tested), matrix.org (only partially tested)

### Will you send logs?

No, not for Element-X. Log are present for Element, though

### Are you willing to provide a PR?
