Conversations/Rooms getting marked as read

### Steps to reproduce

Using Element on OSX 26.4.1 (25E253), and i'll have a list of unread rooms/chats, but within a few hours, and clicking around my different spaces/interacting with some rooms, I'll see that all my rooms and chats are marked as read. This has happened on an off for months.

It'll happen whether I just booted the app, or if I have a long lived session. I'm not sure what triggers it.

I had thought this could be a synchronicity issue with my Android device running Element with this same account, so I signed out last week, but this morning, I still ran into this issue with only the OSX client running.

#### What did you expect?
I expect all my rooms to remain unread until I click them
#### What happened instead?
They will all suddenly get marked as read, and I'm not sure what triggers it

Version 1.12.18 (1.12.18) but this has happened for months and I've been updating regularly
