Favorites will not remain selected when reopening application

### Steps to reproduce

When opening the Element desktop application under Gnome (48 and 49) likely all versions, on Linux.
Under "Home" one sees "Unreads" and "People" buttons.
User clicks on down arrow to the immediate right of "People and selects "Favorites"
User tagged Favorite groups and people show up.
User closes application

### Outcome

User reopens application
Expect "Favorites" to still be displayed
Application is instead back to "People' forcing the user to once again click 3 times to select "Favorites" and
close the selection group.
