Description

### What would you like to do?
We've received a lot of feedback from the community and users on the first version of the left panel we released in September 2025.
After having gathered all that feedback and taken it into consideration, this issue lists the future enhancements we plan to take.

**Directional only:**

Research direction

Start by reviewing the linked issues #31209, #31214, element-meta#2947, and #31536 to understand which left-panel enhancements are already scoped. Then examine the remaining requests for unread sorting and responsive design; the work is done only when a concrete implementation scope and acceptance criteria are established.
