When SSS enabled room profile pictures not loading for DMs

### Steps to reproduce

1. Where are you starting? What can you see?
I enabled experimental SSS (the option still says Sliding Sync rather than Simplified Sliding Sync).

3. What do you click?
Restarted element-desktop (win10 64) and no room anmes and pictures loading in room profile for /converttodm rooms.
Changing /converttoroom and back to /converttodm doesn't do anything.

When I clicked the room the name appears but not the pictures.

The profile picture loads when I changed mine or change my name.

Room names to appear correctly and load the other user's picture.

#### What happened instead?

Room name changes only when clicked and no profile picture.
