### Steps to reproduce
* Start Element Desktop App.
* Close the app's window, so only the notification icon is visible.
* Ask somebody to send you a message.
* Check the notification icon.
### Outcome
#### What did you expect?
The notification icon always shows a badge on any new unread message.
#### What happened instead?
The notification icon shows a badge on any new unread message as long as the message is *not in a thread*. If the message *is* in a thread, the badge does **not** appear on the notification icon.
