After joining Video Room and navigatin to different room, Video Room UI presents as if you're not joined, and disconnects you if you click join

### Steps to reproduce

This happens inconsistently, but this is what triggers the bug

1. Join the Video Room by navigating to it and clicking "Join meeting"
2. Click on another room to navigate to it
3. Click back on the Video Room
4. The UI will display as if you've not joined the room already. Sometimes, you can still hear audio coming from the room. But other times, the audio will cut out once you've navigated back to the Video Room
5. Click "Join meeting"
6. Be disconnected from the call

### Outcome

#### What did you expect?
I expected the UI to present as if I was joined in the Video Room, regardless of whether I navigated away or not.

#### What happened instead?
The UI presented as if I was not joined in the Video Room, and even disconnected me from the call when I tried to rejoin the meeting
