Context menu for a message occassionaly stops working intermittently

### Steps to reproduce

Every now and then, clicking on the context menu for a message (react, reply, edit etc) focuses the previous message instead of performing the action requested. The context menu fixes itself after a few retries, or possibly new messages coming into the room. It happens very rarely and I haven't found a way to reproduce it reliably.

I expected context menu actions to work.

They did not.
