Element not showing message edit

### Steps to reproduce

1. Send a message as `.`
1. Send some threaded replies
1. Edit the thread parent `.` to a normal message mentioning someone (shows up as expected)
1. Go to bed and there is activity in the room (computer stays on)
1. Wake up and jump back up to unreads and notice your message isn't showing the edits you made the day before (at least in my own client)

#### What did you expect?

Message edits that have been seen by the client apply to their associated messages

#### What happened instead?

Original message is displayed and edits are clearly visible as hidden messages.
