Research direction
Reproduce the issue through All Settings > Voice & Video by disabling automatic microphone adjustment, then starting a Jitsi voice call and monitoring the system gain controls while making noise. Trace the setting from the Voice & Video UI into the Jitsi call audio path. Done means the microphone gain remains unchanged when the setting is disabled, while the existing behavior remains available when it is enabled.
