Waveform doesn't update while voice message is being recorded

### Steps to reproduce

Record a voice message and look at the waveform display while recording.

### Outcome

#### What did you expect?
More indication that recording is happening successfully

#### What happened instead?
> While recording a voicemessage, the timer just stays at 00:00 and the waveform is not displayed live. After pressing the stop button, the timer is correct and the waveform is displayed as expected.

> It's unclear if the recording is working.
