Spaces UI - Tree View

The way the current Spaces UI is today (v1.7.23) with panels I am finding myself constantly having to click on different spaces icons to see whats going on instead of being able to see at a glance what room in what space has activity. It feels a bit like a step backwards in terms of usability.

Is there the possibility of adding a tree view for this? I believe Discord actually is laid out that way and IRC client I use lays rooms and networks out that way.

Start by reviewing the current Spaces UI in element-web and how its panels expose spaces and rooms. Define the tree-view behavior needed to show rooms, spaces, and activity at a glance; done means the navigation provides that overview without repeatedly switching between space icons.
