Rating users or scoring messages and acting upon
I have some chat partners I value more than others and some I don't care about. It would be useful to see the messages of my friends in all rooms highlighted and the messages of uninteresting persons folded.
**Describe the solution you'd like**
It would be helpful when I could assign accounts (@user:domain) to a group and set some actions for these groups. For example I click on the user @joe:example.org and select in the right panel the group *friends* from a drop-down box. In the user settings would be a menu for groups and there I could define with a drop-down box how to act on the matched messages, e.g. *highlight*, *fold* (show only the text »joe talked« with the option to click on it and show the text) or *hide* (to suppress the message).
I would distinguish between *fold* and *hide*, because I don't want to read what some people write, but it's interesting to know they are talking, because some dialogues sound awkward when you don't see someone talks with them.
Maybe this could become extended to something like the kill file of NNTP readers like slrn, where you could define other rules like matches on text content or the room name and some actions. Maybe on message type like join send a greeting message.
**Additional context**
It would be useful to highlight interesting messages of peoples I appreciate.
