DM room titles are '<name> and <name>' rather than '<name>'

### Steps to reproduce

1. Where are you starting? What can you see?
Anywhere where the room name is presented e.g. Room list, room, notifications
3. What do you click?
The bug is there from the start. I don't think that user interaction is triggering it.

### Outcome

#### What did you expect?
A DM with 'Joe' to be called 'Joe'

#### What happened instead?
DM is called 'Joe and Joe'

It does not affect all DMs, I can't see a pattern.
