Element can freeze when searching in a room

*Update:* #6840 has partially fixed this issue. You can now search in a room, but the freeze will still occur when rotating the device.

### Steps to reproduce

0. (Join a non-encrypted channel)
1. Open a channel
2. Click the channel name, click search
3. The app freezes

### Outcome

#### What did you expect?
I expected the app to remain responsive

#### What happened instead?
The app stopped responding to input entirely (including rage shake)

(I did not provide logs as I have to restart the app to report anything)
