Clicking on links in topics is incredibly fiddly and sprouts random broken less & more buttons

#### What did you expect?

to be able to easily click on the link in the topic

#### What happened instead?

unless i hit it *precisely* bang on centre for a very short tap, pretty much anything else happens:
* selects it rather than clicks on it
* drags it
* exposes spurious “more” and “less” links which then break
* selects other text nearby
