App instantly crashes when opening rooms "recently" bridged from Telegram

The app instantly and consistently crashes when opening some rooms.
The rooms open fine on other clients; it's only the iOS app that seems to have this issue.

The only similarity between the rooms that I have found is that they are rooms which have been bridged from Telegram after a certain date; apparently, my homeserver made a change to the Telegram bridge that has caused something in the setup of these rooms to change in a way that crashes the app.

The room will still generate on-device notifications.
The app crashes if the room is opened in any way, be it through tapping the room icon or opening it through a notification.
Interestingly, the app does not crash in offline mode; if there is no internet connection, the latest available messages are (correctly) displayed and the room can be opened.
If the room is still open when connectivity is resumed, the app will instantly crash.

Devices tested:
Iphone 6s, iOS 14.3
iPad Air, iOS 12.4.9

The issue has been going on for some time, and also occurred on previous iOS and app versions.
It is possible that this is the same issue as #3350.

I have sudo rights on my homeserver, so I could provide more detailed information on these rooms if required.
