it's very confusing that when tapping on a default room avatar to try to zoom it sometimes takes you to set a room avatar

as from the user's pov the room already has an avatar (the other user's face) - why would tapping on it cause you to try to set a new one?

Start by reproducing the room-avatar tap behavior in the iOS app, focusing on rooms displaying another user's face as the default avatar. Trace the tap handling from the room view and identify when it opens avatar-setting UI instead of zooming the displayed avatar. Done means tapping a default room avatar no longer unexpectedly starts avatar setup.
